Blues Solo Breakthrough
Make Your Solos Sound Intentional.

Over the past 15 years, millions of guitar players have played along with my Blues jam tracks and watched my solos online.
Blues Solo Breakthrough is where I finally teach the phrasing approach behind them.
You already know the scales.
You’ve learned some licks.
But when you improvise…
your solos don’t always feel fully connected yet.
Nothing is technically wrong.
The notes are there.
But the solo doesn’t quite feel like a story.
Ideas appear…
then disappear.
Blues Solo Breakthrough is designed to change that.
This Program Is About Clarity
Not more scales.
Not more theory.
Just learning how to use what you already know in a way that sounds musical and intentional.
When phrasing becomes clear, solos stop feeling like a collection of licks…
and start feeling like music.
Inside the 4 weeks we focus on:
• connecting phrases
• using space intentionally
• aiming your lines so they resolve
• making simple pentatonic ideas sound expressive
When these pieces click, the same notes you already know start sounding completely different.
Who This Is For
This program is designed for players who:
• already know the minor pentatonic scale
• can improvise a little but want their solos to feel more musical
• enjoy expressive Blues phrasing
What This Is Not
This program is not about:
• learning more scales
• memorizing complicated theory
• playing fast or flashy licks
It’s about making simple ideas sound musical.

What Players Have Said
"This course was perfect for me to learn how to play the blues without requiring a lot of theory.
"These classes have made the biggest difference in learning lead guitar for me in over 50 years. Quist's 'Blues Solo Breakthrough' course was the compass I needed for direction to stop my endless wandering around the fretboard hoping to find my next note." — Richard S.
“My phrasing, timing, and overall feel improved — and people around me noticed it too.” — Tom G.
"I learned how to target certain notes and play fewer notes so I wasn’t wandering aimlessly along a scale. The individual feedback that Quist provides improved my confidence and my ability to make effective choices in my playing. — Martin M.
“This course gives you exactly what's missing from most guitar instruction — the ability to transform the technical (scales, arpeggios, exercises) into solos with feeling and a connection that will move your listener.” — Joel P.
Starts September 1, 2026
Early enrollment is now open.
Spots are limited so I can keep the feedback focused and personal.
This is the second cohort of Blues Solo Breakthrough — the first run was super inspiring, so I’m really looking forward to running it again.
